Blinking AC screen on Dashboard

The screen for AC and temperature settings reads correctly but the screen blinks continuously. This is on an S-Type 2008 and is the top screen above the screen for the radio.

Can anyone address this issue?

Mine did this a week or two ago, parked up, went shopping, came back and it hasn't done it since. I do have a problem in that sometimes I need to tap the screen for it to come on.
