Fumes in car

Bought a 57 plate S Type with a number of issues. Most now resolved but I am getting fumes in the car. When I switch off sometimes, smoke comes in through vents and from bonnet. It always has that scent regardless.聽

So, any ideas welcome guys 馃憤

Hi mate, mine has same problem, smells of diesel on startup, it's pretty vile. I'm assuming something to do with auxiliary heater. Is that the common cure, fitting an 'elbow'?聽
