I have a 2021 XF, less than 6 months old and with less than 1600 miles on the clock.

The FEAD belt failed yesterday, and took out an engine Oil seal covering the engine bay and underside of the car with Oil.

See below for AA report.

How we assisted

Customer raised a concern for charging fault detected warning message displayed on IPC. Carried out visual inspection - found FEAD belt broken and major Oil leak from crank shaft seal caused by belt particles. Dealer attention required - referred to Pentland Jaguar Dundee. Engine oil Level Low - Not Topped Up:Crank seal damage due to broken belt - dealer attention required.. Coolant Level Ok.

Ok they have taken it for repair and provided replacement vehicle, but both the AA guys (initial response guy and then the recovery guy) said they have had a few of these.

I have told Jaguar that I am extremely unhappy and may seek a full refund if the repair and clean up are not to my full satisfaction. From the research I have done this fault does not seem to be uncommon, and logic says there is either a design issue which is causing the FEAD belt to fail in such a short time, or there is a manufacturing isssue with the FEAD belts.

Basically I am asking if anyone else has had this problem and what was the outcome?

Cheers
