It's been four years since I had a my last XFS and having just got this one I love it. But I have an issue because I think I can hear something that nobody else can.聽

Seems to be coming from there rear when under extreme load, only can be heard (by me) when (on a private road) sat at 90-95mph. It's a low deep hum that I am stressing about. I'm particularly worried it's the rear diff, which on inspection is a little wet (oily) on the exterior. the car broke 50k mile just this week.聽

Obviously I need to get to the bottom of it but difficult as nobody else can hear it, I'm sure it's not the exhaust or tyre noise (new Dunlops last week), seeing a mechanic friend over the Xmas break who will have a look at it. Any known Diff issues on the XFS???????

Hi

I think you have probably answered your own question. If the Diff casing is oily you have a prime candidate to investigate as it should not have any Oil on it 馃槥

The atached might hep you to diagnose (pg499 on) but I think you probably need new seals and a top-up as a minimum.
