Hi Rae,

Just read this if it helps

Sometimes, a malfunctioning or misadjusted transmission range switch can also cause the vehicle not to start in Park, but to start in Neutral. An electrical problem with the transmission range switch connector or wiring can also cause the same problem. ... A bad transmission range (position) switch must be replaced.

Can you start it in Neutral?

If you are in  “Park” position and the display on the dash still says “R,” there is a linkage issue or a bad shifter position sensor. If the transmission is in park, but the car thinks it's in reverse, it's fairly easy to fix

Hi

Make sure you check the battery as well, they can go flat or low quite quick and a low battery will make it do all strange things and lots of fault codes

make sure the battery fully charged and try it again

cheers

Joe
