2007 S Type with malfunctioning disc changer.

Possible generic part across all models of that year?

Any recommendations for a non stock replacement?

A few years ago I replaced mine with a 2nd hand one from eBay, it wasn't expensive and bolted straight in. More recently, people seem to be upgrading to more modern head units that can accept digital inputs. I can see myself doing this at some point聽馃槈

Russ. Liking my in car music (as a 72 years young does?????), but not having great electrical tech knowledge. I wonder if it is possible to firstly answer if you would know if "more modern head units" are of any better sound quality than the six disc changer original equipment fitted in my car.聽

If they are would you be able to give some examples of what is available and how to upgrade the head unit.

Thanks very much, Regards, John

Long answer short John, they won't sound better better, but you get the modern convenience of all the worlds music available on your phone. I'm a late adopter of this tech and have only been using it for the last year. If this is not something you're likely to do, stick with the CD autochanger 馃槈

I had a quick look on eBay and there are a couple available, look to see what you've got and hopefully you can match. No electrical knowledge needed, just unbolt and swap the plugs over. If you're not confident on this, hopefully you'll have a friend that can help 馃檪

Russ

At this moment in time I feel I will stick with what I have got as original equipment. It is working well and I actually do not use a phone for music at all.

Many thanks and Regards, John
