Hi I filled up and brimmed it , this morning I found a patch of diesel on the floor just Infront of the rear door on the same side of the filler cap . Only had the car 3 days . XF 3.0d . Any information on what it could be would be great.

Did you buy a car from a garage?

Can you see underneath the car to see where it dripping from?

Hi Mark,

As I understand it, you shouldn't 'brim' it - just fill until the pump cuts out. I'm no expert on how the XF handles this in detail, but I guess there might be some feature that vents the overfill somehow.

Others, I'm sure will have a more detailed idea of what's going on.

Envious of you for 'inheriting' such a low mileage 2010 XF!!!

Cheers.

Cheers Jon

Thanks for the info , I have been on Google and found something along these lines from an American bloke . I am worried less about it now , I guess the tank vent is lower down than the 530 D that I had before.

Yes I am lucky , and on first impressions a far better ride than the 530 .

Thanks

Mark
