Hi All
Hoping peeps can help me. I have a road angel speed camera detector. The problem I’m having is getting a reliable gps signal to it. I have tried gps signal repeaters in all positions in the car to no avail.
My question is.

what can I do or buy to give me the the required constant and reliable signal? My thoughts are something that can connect directly to the road angel aerial outlet (mcx)
All help and advice greatly received with thanks.

I bought one of these, admittedly for track use, but it does a very good job. If it will communicate with your Road Angel;

Hi ee601

Many thanks for your reply. I have looked at the link you kindly sent. I have some questions and hope you don’t mind me picking your gray matter.

Can you attach another lead into it directly to the Road Angel?

If not above, where have you placed it in your car?

How does it send the GPS signal to the Road Angel?

Can it be plugged in permanently [via an Ignition power source]

Think that’s all 🤔 Any other advice you can offer would be appreciate As you may have gathered I’m not the most Tec’ savvy person your meet

Best wishes

M

Hi Martin.
From the sound of your questions I suspect this item may not be what you need, I’m sorry. In my case it communicates with my iPhone via bluetooth, no wires at all.  And I believe it uses one of those slim 3032 watch / calculator type batteries for power.
I don’t know how it would communicate with your Road Angel but if it can be made to connect to it then you should get a very accurate positioning.
That’s why I suggested it, but I fear it may be that you’ll need some other device that does a similar job - depends on what the input connection is on your Road Angel.

good luck with it!

cheers

Ian

Hi Ian

Thanks for the info update. Road Angel does have a bluetooth setting but not active yet, guess what? They can’t tell me when it will be activated! Your recommendation would have sorted my issue.
I spoke to the local Jaguar dealership yesterday. They offered no help!

If I find a solution I’ll let you know, just for your interest.

Thanks again for your help

Best wishes

Martin
