Please can anyone answer my question, My 2012 XF 2.2 has the 2011 -2015 rear light clusters. The indicator on the offside is not working and I have been trying to find one but with no luck (unless I want to pay from £140 for a cracked one) So my question is can the 2009 to 2012 clusters be fitted in their place and would it take some wiring alteration.

For those of you that may what to find out the answer to my question. I asked Hilton Camons, he does the XF video's on you tube. This was his reply:

Thanks for reaching out

You can swap the tail lights out for the pre-facelift tail lights, but the indicator and brake light wires will need switching around on your OEM plug for the indicator to work. Honestly, if I were you, I’d just replace the whole light with a salvage one.  They don’t often fail.  The older units used to have LED’s in the tail light section that would fail due to condensation oxidising the LED board, so I wouldn’t go for the older units if I were you.  The newer ones were far more reliable.

Best wishes,

Hilton
