Hi, I am new to forums so please forgive me if I am not using the format properly. I see above that tags are required but I don't know what that means so hopefully I can just press on with my question. I have a pre facelift 2011 Jaguar XF 3ltr V6 diesel. A few weeks after I bought it, the water in fuel warning came on so I bought a new fuel filter but after fitting it the light stayed on so I bought a new water sensor and fitted that but the warning light still came on. I emptied the filter, cleaned the contacts on the sensor and on the electrical connector and refitted the wiring. This time the warning light stayed off. I thought I had cured the problem but after a few months the light is back on again. Has anyone got any info about what the problem might be and how to fix it. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Thomas

Is there a water “trap” that needs to be emptied/drained?? (a bit like the U bend under your sink).  I had a non-Jag diesel car many years ago and I have a feeling my garage used to drain it each time it went for a service??

Good luck getting it fixed 😊
