Hi, I'm Thomas a new Jaguar owner at long last!

I would like to know if anyone has had a stage 1 remap to a 2016 xf 2.0 diesel portfolio. What were the results in performance and fuel economy? Do you recommend any particular company? Does Jaguar offer this service?

Thank you in advance 😃

I am thinking of getting my 2010 3.0 V6 done next month when I get a cambelt change, so I will follow this thread out of interest

Out of interest what is it that you see as important about Stage One tuning/remapping . Is it for performance or for economy ?

Economy for me. Im too old to be speeding around!!

That would apply to me as well.

I am reluctant to invest money in changing the mapping of my S-Type on the grounds of interfering with what was original mapping by Jaguar for the best overall result. When younger and power/performance was the objective with my Nissan SX 200`s  and Skylines I was always keen to explore mapping etc. It has to be said though, these CA18`s, RB25`s, SR20`s were a different breed of engine strong Japanese engines that were nowhere near as fickle as the breed of electronic controlled engines of nowadays.

Hi

I have a 2008 2.7 Diesel XF, last year I had the stage one remapping done, the car was definitely smoother, more responsive and about a 15% better economy on the OPEN road, is traffic the consumption has not really changed, so far absolutely no issues, still very happy I did it. I am in South Africa so unfortunately I can’t recommend the guys who did it for me.
Good luck

Hi. I am looking at both, better mpg and smoother performance especially at the low end.

Hi

I had a stage 1 remap on my other daily car and it made a huge difference in performance , economy and driveabilty was much improved, thats a diesel as well.

but would recommend if you have it done , have it done properly, I paid £235 for mine and it took about 3 hours and was setup and checked on a dyno/rolling road they have.

some companies just flash a map in it and its not always setup correct to suit each individual car

cheers

Joe

Just had a stage 1 remap of XF 2.7D done. Mainly to remove EGR fault and gain extra torque.

Wait out for results.

"Mainly to remove EGR fault "

Could the EGR fault not be rectified or have you had it removed ?

Hi, I've just had my 2017 2.0d 177 bhp XE auto remapped/carbon cleaned  and my findings are as follows: oh and yes, I know it's not an XF but thought this may add value to someones decision making.

1.Engine is definately quieter on start up and idling especially when cold.

2. Gearbox shifts only slightly quicker however the low speed lag appears to be significantly lessened if not totally diminished.

3. The 210 bhp and 490Nm torque appears well suited to the car, which in my opinion is under tuned by around 40-50bhp.

4. Driving in dynamic mode and or S, lowers the 0-60 mph around 7.0 secs from 7.6 secs.

Overall pretty positive and I believe as long as I don't drive like I've stolen her, longevity of parts such as turbo, clutch, transmission shouldn't significantly age prematurely.

All in all a smoother more comfortable drive but not enough power to throw you back into the seat,

Hope this helps.
