Dodgy gear selector hack?

Hi. My gear selector is somewhat temperamental. I’d say 8/10 times it raises up but the other times when it stays down are a pain, and when you turn it then it sounds a bit horrible and damaging almost.

I wondered if anyone has ever figured out a way to get it permanently to stay up? Like maybe there’s a way to disconnect the up and down motor or remove a fuse or something on ODB?

like it’s a neat gimmick… but if it staying up is easiest, that’s what I want it to do.

I had this problem.

For emergency situations, I installed a pushbutton switch, which can temporarily bypass the PO30P06P P-Channel MOSFET source to the drain.

Here's the datasheet

https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/1227854/VBSEMI/30P06.html

So I soldered the wire to the tab, which also connects to pin 2 (DRAIN) and to pin3 which is the SOURCE.

What this does is energise the solenoid which retracts the actuator pin which locks the gear selector in place.

I just hid the pushbutton switch behind the little trip panel close to the parking brake switch.
