I’ve read somewhere that if the boot loom harness is faulty and it knocks your camera out, everything else that’s part of the infotainment system drops out as well. Is this true?

That is correct Pash Had to have mine replaced by the dealer under warrant, however you can get the loom from E-Bay and it is not a difficult job to do yourself. My camera still sometime does not work the I go for a drive and it come back on again, weird thing these Jaguar XF's

thanks guys I’ve contacted eBay and the one they have doesn’t fit my model, they’ve sent me the correct part number and I’m trying my local Jag dealer

I just chopped all the wires 10cm from the connector at each end and replaced all the wires with new pieces. The connectors are similar, and pin 1 connects to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2 etc. The coax cable for the camera can be done in a similar way by chopping the connectors off and replacing broken section with new coax. As long as you are comfortable doing a bit of soldering it's very easy. The only relatively difficult bit, is removing the trim to get access to the loom.
