Jag still going strong

Had the XF 2.2D 200 about a year now, had some teething issues with the BCM needing replacing. All went fine and nearly 20000 miles later no issues until the other day where the EM light came on with code P245A. Narrowed it down to the EGR vacuum, noticed the spring had broken. Following a few other solutions for the same problem I got to work, removed the throttle return spring off one of the old motorcycles to mount to the EGR vacuum to bypass the broken spring. Cleared the codes and nothing has come back, MPG has improved however engine still feels the usual smooth self.

Has anyone had any experience with REMAPPING Ecu's, looking to have it remapped for economy due to being a daily work horse wondering if it's worth the money! Images to follow
