Hi all fellow members, I have a 2012 xf 3.0, and in these cold conditions only the drivers half of the front windscreen is defrosting. The passenger side stays frozen. Is this a possible know fault with the XF, is there a easy fix, any info advice will be extremely welcome.

Regards Baz.

Fuse F16 40A feeding through relay RLY 11 in the engine junction box. If there is power going through then check the LH connector, probably in the ‘A’ post.

Hi, I agree with Jim above. I didn't have a working heated screen after having a replacement windscreen. This was due to the cables in the A pillars not being connected correctly. Once working you will feel the glass getting warmer after a couple of minutes. You have the advantage of comparing each side as 1 side works.

Good luck

Once again thank you for your comments. It's just to cold and wet, to start lifting the bonnet at the moment. But as soon as its suitable, I'll be checking fuses and connections.. thanks for the advice..

Can I just ask gentlemen, do you access the connections from within the engine compartment,  or do I have to take panels off inside the car..any pictures, diagrams to point me in the right direction would be very helpful..

Hi guys, re my heated screen not working and the advice given..I've just watched a YouTube video of how to remove the A pillar trim..and I could clearly see a wiring loom going up the A pillar, but I failed to see any connectors..am I looking in the right place, ???

Thanks for the info and link, the photo makes it all quite clear where the connectors are.

Cheers chaps for all your help,  very much appreciated.
