Hi to all, just to say hello from frozen Lancashire.

My newly acquired XJ40 is tucked away until spring but have a few questions you may have answers too.

will check through forum to see if any already here but in meantime here is first and most curious?

The passenger side glove box does not have a key hole and cannot see a switch, how do you open it?

Or is there no glove box there?

Cheers and all the best Phil

Welcome to the forum, Phil.

Some had a obvious switch in the centre of the panel others you simply press and it should open.

Many thanks for your welcomes and suggestions, by the way there is no glove box on my model its an airbag!

Next question,

where will I find the colour code label on a 1994 xj40?

Also anyone any idea which fuse supplies the cd changer in the boot? no power at plug?

Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,

Found this might help

for XJ40

paint code is on the left door opening in a white window along with
date of manufacture, and interior code.

Generally CD multichangers derive their power from the head unit on that age vehicle so it could be unplugged at the head unit, even just partially unplugged will do it. If you've only recently bought it, some dealers remove head units to avoid theft and only replace them for viewing/sale on the day of. Highly possible they didn't know to refit the CD changer cable

Welcome aboard too!
