A few minor niggles to sort out any advice much appreciated. Put it in reverse and you get one long beep which then stops and nothing else happens. cant get use of the sat nav or radio functions though I can still use it to control the heating / air con.   Doesn't show any faults but when I do the manual checks the soft buttons test gives me numbers and lines ( should be a picture attached ) .

My suspicions lead me to a replacement screen and module as they seem to be at the centre of everything, but not getting any real information from it as to what is faulting I would appreciate anyone who has knowledge of these faults giving me the benefit of their knowledge.

Do you think doing an update would help or be a waste of time just now?

1st thing I would ask  ---Is the battery fully charged   +  How old is the battery  ????

hi

the touch screen is just a monitor

all the video for stereo and navigation come from the nav unit in the boot,

if your in the hidden menus and press update, all it will do is wipe the nav unit and render it useless, needs a special disc to update

check all the connections on the nav unit in the boot, other wise the nav unit will need replacing

also make sure battery is fully charged and also try disconnecting the battery, make sure you have code for cd player

cheers

Joe
