Hey Guys, I recently bought another S Type and the key was pretty screwed so I called out AA key assist who gave me a whole new key and coded it to the car. Everything worked great for 2 days suddenly it stopped working again so I called them about again today and they checked the key, the battery, and also that the programming was still in the car.

I have cleaned the flap just incase the issue was that which when I do the doors will lock with the fob but after that they won't unlock again.

Im left scratching my head this key is brand new, been checked over again, programming on the car checked again but will only intermittently work. Does anyone have any ideas what I should be looking at next?

1st thing I ask is How old is the "Car" battery --Is it fully charged ????

its a 2006 and I believe so, there is no problem with any other electronics in the car and it starts first time every time. Also had it out for a few good runs since I've had it.

Looking at the battery its a new battery, certainly not the original one.

I seem to have fixed the problem despite the AA telling me the key isnt faulty inside they didn't put a screw and the metal battery holder underneath was loose. Pushed everything back into place and remote works perfectly again. I will have to try to find a suitable screw for the board.

Hi

its usually something to do with the remote, missimg screw and loose connection will do it, glad its sorted

you'ld of thought the first thing he would of checked was the battery was fitted correct

cheers

Unbelievable I even questioned them about the screw and he said no it doesn’t need one in it. I need to now find a screw that fits so I can hold it in place permanently
