Little bit stumped, had to Google how to pair my phone to the car which I've now done successfully!

However, the previous owners contacts etc still are showing up, whereas mine aren't - how do I clear this and then sync mine to the car?

Figured it out!

I transferred the contacts from my Google account to my phone and voila!

I'm still getting no joy getting phone to connect, can't find anything in the owners handbook, may try you tube and see if anyone has done a video.

I would’ve just assumed the identity of the previous owner, or at least ingratiated myself with his friends 🤭

I haven’t even bothered trying with my 2004 S Type 2.7 because I don’t think it has that ability, plus I never use the phone in the car anyway. It came with a cool car phone, which I’d love to use, but I think it’s probably best left in the past 😆 Maybe it’s like that hot tub time machine, and will transport me back to 2004 👀🤭

Glad you solved the problem.

All the best

To clear the previous owner's contacts from your car's bluetooth system and sync your own contacts, you can follow these general steps. Please note that the exact steps may vary depending on your car's make and model, so consult your car's owner's manual or contact the manufacturer's customer support for specific instructions.

1. **Access bluetooth Settings**: Start by accessing your car's bluetooth settings. This is typically done through the infotainment system or head unit of your car. Refer to your car's manual for guidance on how to access these settings.

2. Unpair/Delete the Previous Owner's Device: Look for the option to unpair or delete the previous owner's device. This will remove their contacts from your car's Bluetooth system. Select the device and follow the prompts to remove it.

3. Clear Paired Devices List: In some cases, you may need to clear the entire list of paired devices to ensure all remnants of the previous owner's data are removed. Look for an option to "Clear Paired Devices" or something similar.

4. Pair Your Phone: Once the previous owner's device and contacts are removed, pair your phone to the car's Bluetooth system. This typically involves putting your phone into discoverable mode and selecting it from the available devices list on your car's screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

5. Sync Contacts: After successfully pairing your phone, you may need to manually initiate a contact sync. This option is usually found within the Bluetooth settings, and it may be labeled as "Sync Contacts" or something similar. Enable this option to sync your phone's contacts to your car's system.

6. Verify Sync: Check your car's infotainment system to ensure that your contacts are now visible and accessible. Depending on your car's system, you may be able to make calls, send messages, or use voice commands to access your contacts.

If you encounter any difficulties during this process or if the steps differ for your specific car model, consult your car's owner's manual or contact the manufacturer's customer support for detailed instructions tailored to your vehicle. Additionally, it's important to prioritize safety while performing these actions, so make sure you are parked in a safe location and not distracted while operating your car's infotainment system.
