Windscreen washer pump issues and possible BCM problem

Hi

I have been a bit of a donut and let my MOT run out by a week or so and took to local garage. It failed due to the windscreen washers not working, so they replaced the washer pump [£134 not sure if fair], but they still could not get it working in the car. Pump was working fine connected up to machine but not in car, maybe working every few times they had a go but not all the time to pass MOT.

They mentioned that it could be an issue with the body control unit which could have been from previous pump leaking and shorting it inside. They've suggested taking to Jaguar, however there is an independent Jag specialist I usually use for any servicing etc.

I am picking up this afternoon and taking to them, having spoken to their receptionist, she advised lots of issues with BCMs on late 2012 & 2013 onwards for XF. Mine is 62 plate so guess I am lucky enough to be in this, she said they eat through these parts and Jag don't always give out all the codes so you have to go back.

Has anyone had similar problems to this and can advise what sort of costs I could be looking at? I only bought the car September 2022 and love it but I've had a couple of issues since buying and starting to worry.

Hi yes I have the exact problem, It sprays once after the car is started but no more, I have had the pump replaced twice and still the same, the jag specialist said its BCM and jaguar are charging £2500 for the part and then you have labour costs ontop 😒😒I am going to wire a seperate switch which seems to make it work and will allow an MOT pass
