Are there any real mechanics out there or are they just part fitters? Surely someone must know whether or not cats are interchangeable between s types? I cannot believe that a manufacturer would not produce interchangeable parts for their cars

Big John,

thanks for that , but it makes no logical or financial sense to have so many different parts? I can understand different part numbers to some degree, but still parts must be interchangeable.

ie: early 1970s Bentleys had many Citroen parts for their suspension, early Range Rovers had parts from other cars, Jenson used other car parts, it’s common practice. If you take an x type apart you’ll find ford labels, Some Nissans have Renault parts , many cars are fitted with Mercedes engines, they will all have different part numbers, but will still be interchangeable!

so surely someone must know what is interchangeable on the s type??
