Fuel Pump & Tank Sender X-Type Estate 2.2 D 150 hp Diesel ?

Featured Replies

My 2006 X-Type Estate had been running like a dream until several start refusals recently. Breakdown calls led to replacement of starter motor and then new battery but problem recurred the other day. The price of OEM and after-market parts has scared the pants off me! The garage where the Jag is laid up has tried to source s/h units without success so far. They tell me the fuel pump is only delivering around 25 BAR when it should go to 400? So, despite not being mechanically-minded, I have decided to get on with addressing the parts issue myself.

So, it would be helpful to know the following:-  1) Are the same parts used in the 2.0 version? 2) How about the 2.2 Mondeo of the same era or possibly the Transit? 3) Recommended sources of s/h bits?

I enjoy the vehicle so it would be a real shame to write it off as "beyond economic repair".  Consequently any and all advice, tips and work-arounds gratefully received.

Thanks!
