Hi all, just a quick question regarding the centre prop shaft bearing on my 2010 XJ 3.0 SWB Diesel.

It's making a terrible noise, but I'm unable to source one, apparently I have to purchase the complete shaft from Jaguar at £1300, surely this isn't correct, it appears that the younger models do come separate but not 2010 model?

I'm trying g to obtain a second hand shaft here in the UK, would appreciate any help you can offer, seems crazy to pay £1300 for a £50 part.

Thanks in advance

I'll be taking my prop up to Dunning and Fairbank in a couple of weeks.

Heard from D&F that they've finished my propshaft.

I'm going to see them on Monday 19th. I'll report back on the thread after talking to them and seeing what they've done.

Propshaft collected from Dunning & Fairbanks ltd, and fitted back on.

They had replaced the rear section which addressed the issue of worn splines. They replaced the rubber in the centre carrier and replaced both rubber doughnuts at each end. They left the centre UJ as it was the 'only part that was ok'. Cleaned it up cosmetically as well. Charged me £300. A great job.
