Hi Colin

First check is to look for water in the front footwell or spare wheel compartment in the boot. Both locations are known problem areas close to computer junction boxes which can cause all sorts of issues....

Thanks John no water issue, resolved that one 2 years ago, new JCB and Windscreen washer bottle. I suspect it's one of the modules that feed in to the ECU to allow start, Body Control Module, Steering Column Lock control module, brake pedal switch, push button start module. Problem is it's stick on my drive and RAC recovery truck can't recover it and I'm sure there is no mobile auto electrician who'd have a clue how to diagnose/fix it.
