Hi all, nice to meet you

As the title suggests a guy I know has his XF for sale. It seems like a lot of car for the price but not sure what to look for exactly as I'm hearing mixed things about these in terms of reliability.

Car is a 2011 XF S (D) pre facelift with 140k miles

So far from what I can gather...

PROS
- It's in great condition inside and out, all electrics work
- Cambelt and water pump replaced in 2021 (110k) along with coolant header tank, one inlet manifold and some suspension parts.
- Brakes and disks seem fine and has 4 new premium tyres replaced last year

CONS
- Serviced yearly since new up until 2021, but not been serviced since (32k miles)
- No receipts for a gearbox service, current owner hasn't had it done during their ownership
- Pre facelift, Luxury spec (but does have heated seats)

Based on the above is it worth considering for £2k or would you avoid like the plague?
Anything in particular I need to be looking/listening for when I take it for a drive?
What are parts availability and prices like?
Being a Lexus/Volvo guy is 140k miles a lot for this engine or has this just been run in?

Apologies for all the questions just want to go into it with my eyes open if I do decide to take the plunge

Feel free to share any info you think would be helpful.

Thanks in advance, much appreciated

I'm also interested, into a Jaguar XF 2011 Supercharged with 116k miles on it.

I'm 17 on my way to 18 and would be a first insurer, I've been hearing a lot of different opinions as well, on this vehicle on the topic of reliability.

I've heard of this plague of Mechanical issues with these cars, and I do not want to be stuck in a hole when !Removed! goes haywire, I plan to be a Diesel Mechanic, and I don't think I will have problems working on the car myself but I'm just wondering if its really worth buying.

What the Seller says about the car, The Following:

I have owned and loved this car for ~5 years. It has been religiously maintained at a certified Jag dealerships and I have most of the paperwork for that. Used very seldom, have only put a few thousand miles on it as I work from home. Just washed, waxed and vacuumed before the pics, come see it while its squeaky clean!

If you know the Make and model, this is one of the best to buy, but still has the same cosmetic issues that all XF's have. But that is all they are, cosmetic.

I am selling due to a divorce, my loss is your gain, I had planned to keep this car for a long time.
- V8 Supercharged 5.0L engine
- 6-Speed automatic transmission with RWD
- Adaptive cruise control and keyless start
- Bowers & Wilkins sound system
- Navigation and backup camera
- Heated and cooled leather seats
- Moon roof "

Another note, I'm not from the Uk/ or European side, I'm from the U.S. from Michigan. I love my euro cars, my ethnicity is German and I want my own Euro car, It seems like a great car and I love the style of it, The V8 sounds so mean but great plus the supercharger just takes the cake.

I'm sorry I couldn't help First Comment.

Thank you for the help and taking the time to read this.

I absolutely love the XF, these cars are super reliable, I have the 2.0D Portfolio that has 125,000 on the clock and it drives like new. The only problems I have had is a broken fan belt, and the gear selector that stuck in Drive (which cost me £200 to fix) Re-Conditioned though, and recently my start stop sensor unplugged.........That cost me £0 to fix. The parts are reasonable and are very reliable despite the bad press.

The 2011 XF, very nice car and in my opinion yes it is worth £2k...........I would buy it!

The Supercharger........Wow!  If I could drive one in London I would have one, It is a future classic and very desirable.

I have been driving Jaguar for over 20 years and swear by them, but the XF Is the best and I wouldn't drive anything else.

These cars can do 300,000 miles easy.

Hope that helps even though it's my opinion
