Good evening everyone,

I apologize if I write on this forum only in the presence of problems, but I would like to share with you the joy of driving my 2004 X Type 2.0 D that I am restoring with difficulty. I hope to make it soon.. Following a problem with the diesel supply for which, between 2500 and 3000 rpm, the engine was in protection diagnosing a P0251 error, I took the car to a specialized Delphi center. The car was fine because, on the occasion of the breakdown, it was enough to turn it off and turn it back on for it to go back to normal..

The workshop disassembled the high pressure pump, re-ensizing its perfect condition and replacing only two gaskets. The original injectors have been reconditioned with new valves and other components but, once restarted, the engine goes to three cylinders, starts with great difficulty and at low revs it jumps conspicuously. The mechanic gave it back to me claiming that it was like a Swiss watch and that the jump at idle would disappear as soon as the electronic components would have seen each other after a few hundred miles..

On Monday I will take the car back to the workshop, hoping that the "magician" will be able to fix it. I wonder, however, if any of you have already experienced this nightmare and how it has solved it. I trust in your help also because I wouldn't want there to be no solution.

I thank everyone in advance for reading and I hope there is someone, among all of you, who can enlighten me.

I add that, at the moment, the expense is 540.00 pounds....

Solved..!
After sweating to start the X Type this morning and after an adventurous trip from home to the Delphi center, the expert, very annoyed, welcomed me telling me that he would double-check the injectors but that he would not return the car to me until in two days. She then called me to tell me that X Type was ready and that I could pick her up.... I ran to see the “masterpiece” and he explained to me that the problem concerned the coding of the injectors and the dirty diesel filter. I went back home driving a car that (I hope) works and travels smoothly at every speed.. I hope that those who have read me among you and are interested in the subject can benefit from this experience. Greetings to everyone and.. see you next time..!

Glad you got to the bottom of the problem.
