2004 XKR Sat Nav Update Disc

Hello. I have 2004 XKR with Alpine stereo and Sat Nav.

I am wondering if there is an update disc for the Sat Nav. I have only seen them available for the 2006 model onwards.

I recently had to change the sat nav box in the boot along with the disc as it was scratched.

The Sat Nav info is a long time out of date.

Originally I had an analogue clock display when the Sat Nav was not in use but now I have picture of a jaguar with a very small digital clock in the bottom left corner which cannot be read when the sun shines!

I spoke to my local Jaguar dealer (Parks in Ayr) but they were only able to suggest a website but when I visited it, it only showed the 2006 onwards model.

Hi Graeme, as you will find, the dealerships are not a great deal of help to us owners at the moment - they are still hacked off with Jaguar Cars Ltd. Afraid that disc based Satnav systems are from the dinosaur era and, whilst you may be able to locate "pirate" discs on some web based auction sites, they can potentially do more harm than good.

All is not lost however as there is a very real and positive upgrade available for your car, which will give you all of the journey latest information and allow several other upgrades to be undertaken in the future - such as install a reversing camera.

From what you say, your car is fitted with the central screen, which just happens to be the same size and shape as the Garmin Satnav solution. There is a very simple process whereby you remove the original screen - it served very little purpose other than out of date journey information - and replace it with a Garmin, complete with WIFI enabled updates for life, plus real time traffic information.
