I know that I am getting away from the subject slightly but I recently asked a girl(rich girl)about how she picked out a new car.She replied....she stands infront of the new potential car and looks at it.Every car has a face,I.e.headlamps are eyes and the grill is the mouth. She told me that there are many different types of cars, she looks at the face of the car,she likes happy faces, she likes the happy face of a volkswagen beetle, but prefers the smiling face of my xjs

I only named my first car, a very early Triumph 2000, whom I called Isabella (don't ask me why), but I've been trying to think of a fitting name for the Jag. So far she's usually referred to as "The Cat".

Isabellas a great name for a car.

On a slightly different note, do we think naming ones car is a male thing? I've always named my cars, as did my father but I know for a fact my mother has no name for hers (Which is a shame, because shes has had the same car for over 10 years now).

I used to have a big red 3.5l V8 Discovery twin-carb that did 12mpg, a real gas guzzler. So its name, inevitably was "Guz"

My 14 year old Rover 45 is metallic gold, so it has the name "Goldie Looking Car".

I swap it for a black x-type tomorrow, so no more Goldie.

Any suggestions for the name of my new x-type?

(I'm hoping it won't be called "Lemon")

The first car I named was a black Ford Granada Mk3 facelift, year 1990. I called her "Black Bess" cause the price i gave for her was daylight robbery just like Richard Turpin (the infamous highwayman) used to practice on a horse called Black Bess. My wife bought a brand new Ford Mondeo in 2007 the letters on the number plate almost made up the name "Maisie" so that was her name, A Ford Kuga followed in 2009, no name as more important issues had raised their ugly head, My wife died in 2011, 2 more Kugas have followed on in 2012 and 2013, I was searching for something a little special, now I believe I've found her, a Jaguar XJ on a 63 plate, her name? the "Lady Kate" in honour and deepest respect and love to my beautiful wife.
