Which oil for 2.0 V6 X type

Hi Everyone.

I'm wanting to change the Oil on my 2.0 V6 petrol X-type.

I wondered if any members could recommend a good Oil to use.

Castrol magnatec or fuchs

Check out Opie Oils.co.uk, they offer discount to club members, when you come to buy they ask you which club recommended you from a drop down list

they give excellent Oil advice too!

In the handbook it says that Jaguar does not recommend the use of synthetic Oil in the V6 engine.

I emailed Jaguar to clarify the situation as non synthetic oils are hard to find these days.

They replied by saying that only fully synthetic Oil is not recommended. Semi-synthetic is fine to use.

just noticed this thread saying fully synthetic not recommended but local jag dealer said only use fully synthetic so i went to buy some and local part store also said use only fully synthetic according to there bible now i am totaly confused (not difficult ).

Fully Synth Castrol Magnatec 5W 30 just done mine.Owners handbook has the code for the Oil and matches to this.
