Further to my earlier blog on the subject of fuel surge and things that go bump in the day and night.

I have been corresponding with Jaguar and i must say what a slippery bunch they have turned out to be.

They have agreed that the bumps/thumps are caused by fuel surge but refuse to correct the problem.

They now say and i quote " The concern raised is an operational characteristic of your vehicle, which is only evident under specific circumstances and has no effect on the driving or safety aspects of your vehicle" No remedial action is required from Jaguar "

So if anyone is interested in purchasing a Jaguar XF you will have the extra bonus of enjoying things that go bump/thump both day and night and there is nothing you can do about it but try to live with it.

Also ask your dealer is this a free extra not declared in the sales brochure

I have however discovered that if you run the car with less than a quarter tank the noise will be reduced.

Bearing in mind the attitude taken by Jaguar Would i reccommend buying an XF? probably to my worst enemy, but to my best friends, What do you think!!!

Sorry to hear Jaguar were not interested in one of their customers with a new car George, I am not sure what to say,

possibly contact trading standards to see if you have any legal standing, with goods bought and not meeting up to standards,

maybe posting on Jaguars facebook page, if enough people stand up, then hopefully Jaguar will look in to the problem and rectify

it, as it is not audible in other cars, it must be curable, Good luck.
