Hello,

I decided I wanted to fit a long life/performance filter to my XJR, browsing the usual internet searches yeilded little helpful info as it appears that not many "aftermarket" performance products are available for this model - probably due to its short run of production.

I only wanted a replacement panel to fit in the OEM airbox rather than a big flashy cone filter (too old & sensible for all that ;) )

eBay searches proved fruitless so I went on K&N's site and found one to fit my car - to save you the hassle of searching the part number is 33-2003

Most sites list this for VW's of various kinds, it also fits Volvo, Audi, Porsche and oddly Lada (but we'll keep that quiet) Its a perfect fit for the Jaguar airbox, can be cleaned & reused at service intervals and if you're an optimist it may even free up 0.5 BHP...

Piper cross also do an equivalent, their PN is PP43

The K&N is available for a few pence under £40 delivered, Pipercross list theirs at around £35

K&N link - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K-N-33-2003-Element-VW-Vanagon-1-9-1983-1985-/170628343445?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27ba3de695 (cheapest I could find and it arrived next day!)

Hope this is of use to some of you, it works out cost effective after a couple of services and is more free flowing than a paper element.

Phil :)
