Morning,

I though I should introduce myself before asking for advice.

I am James a 26yr old Project manager from Worcestershire, my current daily driver is a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX PPP.

I am a keep user of Forums and there is a vast knowledge base out there.

Now my Roll at work is changing slightly and I am becoming a Regional Project Manager (RPM - I love it).

This will mean I can claim car allowance as I will be covering 400-600miles a week depending on where I have projects going on.

Initially I was going to order a company car, but nothing was really taking my fancy. So I have opted for the money.

Now the Subaru doesnt meet any of the company criteria to claim allowance and its not great on fuel. My thoughts are to spend about £4000 - £4500 (Subaru's value) on an X-Type Jag diesel.

I will use this for 12months and then take things from there. As my wife is currently on maternity leave the car allowance will come in useful until she goes back to work.

I am a keen car enthusiast, having had a vast collection of vehicles but the current ones are.

2003 Subaru Impreza WRX - soon to be replaced by an X-Type

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7V8 H.O - Nat uses this as its great for all the baby stuff and our labrador. Awesome tow car for our caravan as well.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0I6 - 3.5inch lift, 33inch Mud terrains, Warn Winch and Bumper, rock sliders and so on. This is the toy for Green laning and Off road events.

Many thanks

James

Welcome James, I had a 59 plate Scooby WRX a couple of years ago, buying your car I would get one with fsh, hpi checked etc,

the only other thing I would say is to check with company car taxes as the government are changing them again on 6 Apr 2012

Have you thought about leasing which will include road tax etc and I am not sure if you claim tax refund against this, good luck with your new car and enjoy the forum.
