When I first got my XF (Premium Diesel Luxury S - 2011 if this is relevant) I noticed that when I was filling up the fuel was "!Removed!" out underneath. I called out the Jag assistance people and they said it was a valve in the fuel tank that was supposed to close when filling up to create a vacuum (I think he said the last bit) but was staying open. He couldn't fix it at my house so I took it to a Lancaster dealer who replaced the valve. It was ok for a while, except that the pump kept stopping like when the tank is full up - except it wasn't full. The remedy short term was to slow the flow down so much that it is painfully slow to fill up. Now I noticed yesterday that fuel is "!Removed!" out when I fill up again. Of course I will be taking the car back to Jaguar again.

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this - dangerous - problem?

Hi, I would contact Jaguar, it maybe something more that needs replacing and the dealer could be just trying the cheapest option, good luck and hope you get the problem resolved

I used a filling station recently that i have never used before and the attendant.....yes attendant said he was surprised how easily my xf was to fill up, stating that some xf cars were very slow to refuel.Ipersonaly have experienced no problems in this area but perhaps there is a common problem in line with your own.

I've now had 3 XFs and never had a problem filling up until my latest which is a 2012 2.2 diesel model (the others were 3.0 diesels). I have no problems with any leakage but it's incredibly slow to fill as the pump cuts out if I use anything more than a slight pressure. Is this anything to do with the diesel safeguard mechanism perhaps?

Common problem with xf model. Pull nozzle out slightly when filling but not too much otherwise auto shut off might not trigger when tank is full. Some diesel like shell can be foamy / frothy making fill up painfully slow.
