key fob issue

Hi, again.

the fob that i got with my 99 s-type doesnt seem to activate any locks. however if i manually unlock the car and press the trunk release button that works. i have also set off the alarm a couple of times messing around with it! it is old and the ideograms have worn off on the top two circular buttons.

any suggestions?
