Hi everybody,

i am a X-type owner of one year but am a member of this club only one day.

i paid a lot of money to join the JEC and quite frankly it's a waste. they say they have experts yet all i got was 'dunno mate', 'never heard of that one mate', or 'have you tried ringing a garage mate ?'

not the sort of response i wanted .

i have been around cars all my life and can do almost everything to them by way of repair, but as i don't have a decent workshop guide i am very wary of what i tackle and how i do it.

i have already posted one query and have plenty more; you lot seem to be knowledgeable and a happy bunch, so i like what i see so far and i hope you can help me sort out my problems.

actually they are small quirky annoyances not major disasters.

thanks for listening:

hope you can help me.

cheers

Hi Rich, in answer to your query 5 (leaper) can I draw your attention to a series of posts in the S-Type club forum under the title S-Type Poll, the last one being 16th October 2012, it has the information you need on the subject. Oh and by the way welcome to the club I hope you find it both informative and useful.Best wishes mate Geoff.

to number 6. Sport means your your transmission will hold it in a higher gear longer, making full use of the rev range

Number 7. Tracktion control should be left on in all weather unless you like being naughty a lot. It can save you in a sticky situation too.

Default it should be on

Number 3. Only when car is at full heat will it demist. To be honest most cars with air-con use this as it's the quickest way to demist

thanks Steve, also for your other answers. you're a star. tell me, do you just push the respective button(s) whilst you are driving normally, or before you set off ?

cheers
