Hi all, I am new to the forum after purchasing a lovely 2003 3L auto s-type, been running the car just local and find it a very nice ride.

I went on a longer run the other day and spotted the temp gauge rising towards the red, I pull over and quickly looked inside the engine, I notised that the fan had not come on?

Any way I turned off and let the engine cool down, whilst it was cooling down I checked all the fuses just in case.

I went to a local garage who pluged their code reader in but said they had no info on the fault that came up and it would need a full check over.

I have been there with other cars and it gets very expensive so I was looking for some practical advice on where to start, I am capable of following curcuit diagrams and doing most repairs.

Is there a way of disconecting the fan motor and giving it 12 volts  then move backwards thro the system so any advice would be welcomed.

thank you in advance

Patrick
