I just drove over  a pot hole as deep as a swimming pool, the front tyre had bump  in the side now ,so I  assume I have to change it, plus check if there is no other damage in the car as it was a big bang ,will the council pay for the damage,I waiting for your answer.

Many Thanks

Jose

What you need to do is photograph the pot hole and tha damage to you tyre and vehicle and pass this all on to your council. You may have cracked the wheel and your tracking may be out as well so have a good look round your car.

get a pic of the pothole asap before it gets fixed... then go and get car inspected keeping all receipts and bills...

then make a claim you should get compensation

Thanks Moon and Steve . This happened about 10,30 pm,not safe to stop now I thought, I went the following morning 8.30 and the hole was covered, I supposed they did it  so quickly  because the hole was really deep, (the council have done the job as by the rules?),  I have extra cover with a private company and the tires are covered so I hope they will pay for it

If you still take a pic and give them day and time they should still pay the claim if you say that you sent in a claim before you go to solicitors to save them having to pay extra fees.

Hi Jose,

What a nightmare, especially revisiting the scene of the crime and finding the hole filled in.  Good luck with your claim - keep us all informed.

Best regards,

Dave
