My new XF 3.0Ds prem lux arrived at my local dealer today, popped along to have a quick scan and ensure it was OK and am picking her up on Friday pm.

If I didn't work nights, there would be a couple of sleepless nights ahead, but as I do, best to stay awake. :D

Will add some more pics over the weekend (after I finish showing her off and playing with her of course)

Hi Stewart,

Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, is this your first?  That is one good looking Cat, what colour is that?

Regards,

Dave

Yes this will be my first, the colour is listed as "Emerald Fire", which I believe was discontinued by Jaguar in 2010, a rare mistake in my opinion.

The pearlescent effect in sunlight is almost that of a flip top paint, truly beautiful.

We will be spending the weekend thinking of a suitable moniker for the naming ceremony.

Green Goddess and Green Hornet have already been dismissed, we try to find a name both suitable for the car and having some significance to either the history of the marque, or manufacturer, or date of purchase.

Previous examples

Triumph Spitfire = "Stanley", in recognition of Stanley Markland who saw the original "Bomb" project under a tarpaulin and gave the Ok to start production of the Spitfire.

Saab 93 - "Poppy", simply because we bought her on remembrance Sunday.

However, the wife has decreed that the cat will be a female, so searching names of historical meaning and suitable to it's looks has so far not been to easy!!!!, and I just don't fancy "May"

Hi Stewart,

Emerald Fire, outstanding colour makes the car look stunning.  I think you'll have to post a few more photos.

How do you find the ride with the alloys, are they 19"?

Best regards,

Dave

alloys are 20 inch Senta's, to be honest i'm not a massive fan of ultra low profile tyres, but Jaguars suspension and soundproofing make them surprisingly pleasant (given so far only 50 miles covered on a commute).

Guess I'll really find out when we motor down to Cornwall soon, or possibly the Heritage meet sooner if we can get up there.
