Hi Everyone

I have never been in love with a car before but I love my Jag so much she is the wallpaper for my computer. Move over Derren Brown!

I also own a Chihuahua who goes everywhere with me, even short trips and here lies the problem.

Does any-one here know how I can lock the car without enabling the alarm? Everytime she moves from the front of the car to the back the alarm goes off and i am not prepared to leave the car unlocked in case she gets stolen.

Thanks in advance

Amelia

Hi Amelia,

Welcome to the forum, you have a lovely Jag there.

Re your alarm, have you tried locking the doors the old fashioned way?  Using the key in the drivers door lock and not the plipper.

Best regards,

Dave

Thanks Dave.

Yes, that is how I locked my old car when the dog was in there but it doesn't work with this car. So far every-one I have spoken to has said it is not possible and if my Chihuaua is in the car I have to leave the car unlocked. This sounds a totaly ridiculous and outrageous solution to her setting the alarm off. She could be stolen.

I have also phoned Jaguar and their response was for me to not have my dog in the car which is not even an option I would consider.

I have asked various garages if they can disconnet the alarm completely but have been told this could interfere wth the central locking system.

I am getting increasingly frustrated now.

I cannot be the first Jaguar owner that takes their dog everywhere with them so does every-one else just leave the car unlocked?
