Jaguar XF Battery

I have a 2010 3D XF, I am going away for 5 weeks and plan to leave the car at the airport. The battery is in good condition. I have spoken to the dealer and he suggests disconnecting the battery he says the alarm and locking should still work but I am not so sure.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I do use a photovoltaic cell to recharge the battery at home it puts in about 2/3 amps per day would this be better than a battery disconnect?

Any suggestions?
