So after a month of quiet wafting, the driver's door started making an obvious creaking sound. Opened the door right open and saw the card was unclipped in two places. So, pushed them in to hear two reassuring clicks. Drove the car - it made it WORSE. hmmm, previous owner unclipped for a reason.

 

So, I found some thin black fabric, wedged into the card... total silence.
