Hi,

My Name is Jason and I have just purchased my first ever Jaguar. I've gone with an XF 3.0 S Portfolio on a 60 Plate. I'm picking it up this week and can not wait.

I'll be posting question about it somewhere down the line no doubt and look forward to lots of interesting help from fellow users.

I have been a Volvo owner up till now with an S80 Auto which was great but of course, not particularly sexy or inspiring.

I hear so many good things about the XF's.

Regards and look forward to getting to know you guys more

Hi Jason and welcome to the club !

Glad to hear you've jumped from Volvo to Jaguar...a wise move and I think you'll find the Jaguar a lot more spirited when driving.

Hope you find plenty to keep you interested in this forum and please feel free to contribute or ask any questions.

Regards,   Trevor

Thanks Trevor, I am excited to pick it up.

The one I have chosen has lots of different fun toys on it, I work as a professional photographer and will be taking some stunning pictures of it to upload on here soon.

No doubt I will have lots of questions down the line, Firstly, I have never dabbled in changing to winter tyres, is this something people recommend or should I just go for an all year rounder?

Look forward to seeing some pictures of your new pride and joy!

I would stick to a good branded make of tyres, in particular ones that have been recommended for your car by the vehicle or tyre manufacturers as they are usually designed to complement the car's unique driving attributes (it makes a huge difference on motorbike tyre choice!).

I don't think we have severe enough weather in this country to warrant winter tyres, especially as the modern cars have traction control and ABS which limit how much it can get out of control when things get slippery.

What does anyone else think ?
