Hi there,

I just said good night to my Gray Ghost, an X350 XJR. We have met back in 2006, when he was just over one year old. I was 21 at the time, and my folks used to drive it most. But as time passed, more and more often, it was me behind the wheel. Now, I am 28, and am a young Romanian prosecuting magistrate, which means I had to move from my hometown. Sooo, The Gray Ghost came with me, and strangely, after about 5 years of respect, but nothing more, I began to fall in love with this car. Everything about it sais "old fashioned", but everything beneath it is modern technology. I still can't believe it how it can handle turns better than a 5-series.

Ofcourse, I couldn't stop myself from modifying this car, so I did. But from the outside, it looks like a 200bhp leisure boat :) I only did a few mods, like ECU remap, Mina Gallery intake, and 2.5lbs pulley. I went to a drag strip, with tires that were bald, comatose, brittle, and dying. My 60ft's were in the 2.2-2.6 range, but my trap speed was in the 107-108 range, so that was pretty ok for an "old man's car". Best was 13.4x, but I bet I could do better with better rubber off the line.

Anyway, I am glad to meet you all, and hope to gain valuable knowledge through this forum. For anybody who's planning on installing a smaller pulley for the supercharger, or wanting to change the air suspension, or solving the suspension arms bushing problem, or lowering the car for less than 30 GBP without washers, I'd gladly lend assistance with info from my own experience.

Cheers!

Hi Matel, and welcome to the Club.

It is very nice to see members from Mainland Europe who enjoy the iconic British car that is Jaguar.

There is a wide spectrum of members of the club, some of whom have the skills to maintain their Jaguars themselves, and those who just enjoy using their cars for the pleasure that it gives them.

Regards,

Peter.
