Good evening,

I have developed a fault that has me baffled, if I sit idling for a short while, when I set off the revs climb to 300 and then then seem to hit a limiter. I can get past this by dropping the revs and the engine changes gear into 2nd, then the fault seems to be clear. It always happens at 3000 rpm.

 

Anybody able to help me out with an idea would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. it is an X type 2.5 AWD petrol V6 with the Sport pack
