hopefully getting my s type heating fixed this week. Having spoken to the guy that is looking at mine says the fault is in the heater control valve, but also this can effect the control unit in the cabin, as the heater valves short circuits and can blow the control module. Have done some research and this seems to have been a common fault with the s type.

The control modules can be repaired so hopefully mine doesn't require a new one

Hi guys

My S type 2.7 diesel take a long time to warm up the cabin (as much as ten miles of driving). Could be the heater control valve sticking or shorting as I was led to believe that these cars warm up pretty quickly.

Thanks

Hi Martyn,

The S type 2.7 D has an auxiliary heater that helps the big diesel to warm up the cabin quicker.  I drive from here to Lichfield, 12 miles, once a week and the engine takes all that time to get to normal operating temperature.  Like all diesels they do take their time warming up.

If there is any problem, it could be the auxiliary heater, but 10 miles is not that far for a diesel.

Regards,

Peter.
