Hi Trevor,

I was at the Charity car meet in Alfreton yesterday and there were three XK8's there, one silver, one dark blue and one in the same colour as the XK-R in which you will be going to lunch.

The sun shone and there was a good turn out from the Club.

Regards,

Peter.

Judging from the results shown above I am going to have to give this a go.

Never used it before though, I guess others are in the same boat so without repeating what already may be on the forum any tips on its use.

Thanks

Martin

PS never really had a car before that I wanted to put that kind of a shine on!

Main Dealers seem to think that if you buy a car from them that they have total supervision over what you do with it.  Unless they change their opinions the Indy's will take their business, and just assume that you are tied to them.

You are not.

Peter.

Peter,

They just didn't like it when I told them a few home truths over my treatment and over charging by them, and said I would get the cars serviced elsewhere at a sensible price.

Saying that, all my five transactions with them ( the last two just buying the car) have been paid of instantly by bank transfer.

The way I see it, they could do with a few more customers like me ; but apart from the young salesman , all the rest walked by without even a "good morning" .

The manager couldn't even be bothered to come out of his office and acknowledge me, which I though was pretty rum as it under their care my Aston Martin got wrecked

ATB,

Trevor

On the subject of the self-importance of car salesmen/managers at main dealerships, having experienced this first-hand from the likes of Mercedes/Audi/Jaguar and worst of all Landrover, I decided in future not to visit the dealership but have them bring the car to my office for me to evaluate. Once they were off their home ground the change in attitude was remarkable, so much so, that in the case of the Mercedes dealer, the once aloof general manager delivered the car himself. You may be thinking that I was someone very wealthy or important in my community, nothing of the sort, but my office being sited on the Sandringham estate might have had something to do with the change in attitude.
