Welcome to the Club, Tony.

You will enjoy your S Type.  It is a great car to drive.

Thank you,  Peter, I have been promising myself one for a while now, was going to spend some money on my w124 e class [ sorry if that's a swear word on here] but so glad I never did. This car is Class, looking forward to some nice run outs in the summer. 1st thing on to do list, a full service, a couple of tyres up front as the ones on it now are quiet low on the tread, although even wear, what fantastic value this model is now, I just hope there are no nasty's around the corner, can you tell me what some of more common problems are? gear box is fine no surging, no warning lights on dash, all electrics work and no sign of water damage in boot, so hopefully I have bought a good one, it has full history so fingers crossed, kind regards Tony

Sounds like a good car, Tony.  The 3.0 litre engine is a good one.  I have the 2.7 diesel in SE trim and suspension which is also a great drive.

A full service  will tell you something and will sort out if there are any issues---  use a good independent garage rather than a main dealer, unless you feel like spending a lot of money.  There is a topic on the forum about the location of good recommended independent Jaguar specialists/garages.

Regards

Peter.

A friend of mine had the diesel se in black, beautifull car 07 plate, he started off with a 4.0 litre V8 seafrost on a W, He is now driving an A4, 57 plate Diesel, he was looking over mine and said "The Audi is going I'm getting another S Type" ha ha looks like he could be on here soon.
