  1. The 'bolt-on' tuning boxes fool the ecu into believing the fuel pressure is low and simply put more fuel in. On turbo-charged cars that's not complemented by an measured increase in air from the turbo pressure being increased as the ECU thinks everything is as it should be. As a result, you'll likely get a cloud of black diesel smoke in your rear view, a clogged DPF if you have one, a catalytic converter full of soot and a clogged EGR valve. The box may only cost £70 but the resulting (damage is the wrong word) will cost you much more in the long rung. I will be using these in the very near future to remap my 2.2 X-Type - www.celtictuning.co.uk

  2. On a motorbike forum I frequent, someone asked how to remove the sticky residue that a tank-pad had left behind. Same thing, the usual stuff wouldn't shift it. Someone suggested bog-standard furniture polish....and it worked perfectly with the added bonus of polishing the paint at the same time!

  3. Hi Guys, There is an alternative, they're called Auto socks and they are a fraction of the cost of winter tyres and rims, they can be fitted in moments and work brilliantly in the snow. http://www.autosockdirect.co.uk/shop/product/24234/Autosock/AS600/?gclid=CIj1tuqk4LsCFeLHtAodph8AHA I've used them for several years now and although I've only been driving for 30 years I did used to live in Scotland and I can state that these are the answer to maidens prayer when it snows. Oh and buy the way I have absolutely no connection with Auto Sock or any other automotive company Mike
