  1. Badish news. Last weekend the gearbox error light came on. I only had the car a week! but it had come with an extended warranty so it was put into Hatfields Jaguar in Liverpool. They diagnosed a broken turbo, which was replaced and I got her back today. On the plus side the loan car was a brand new XE with 170 miles on the clock,. So everything turned out alright. Annoying, but hasn't jaded my view of my x type.

  6. welcome to the club david, you will love the car. I have the prem l version not as nice as the portfolio with the piped seats&tv. but has every thing else ,power fold mirrors , auto boot opening&closing rear camera ect had her (anna) now for about 6weeks , inram silver black leather. its my second jag. had the xk 4.2l for 3years before loved the v8 growl. and used a insignia for the local shopping (dint like it. but down to 1 car now as I took early retirement to look after the wife. getting used to the xj its a big car just watch were you park it as the back end stcks out in the small car parking spaces but love it, quality car. enjoy yours ATB charlie

  9. Recently got a dark green 55 manual 2.7 twin turbo diesel. Not the se but not bothered about those extras.. always prefer to drive a car as oppose to driving a chariot. ;-) I decide when it changes gear.. recenlty did 120 miles and got 58 miles to gallon average.. 6th gear is a god send. still loving it too.. hope this helps.
