  1. Hi Daniel, and welcome to the club. The x type is a very good car [I had an X type SE] and the 2.0 litre Diesel is well tried and tested, and is very economical. i hope you enjoy the club as much as you will enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter.

  3. Hi Guys thanks for the quick and positive response - I've tried it - using And's advice to "gently push " and the wing mirrors do fold back. It's good to know and be able to do that, so I will no longer be concerned when I park on a road. Cheers! Steve

  4. Thank you tigger and jimc64 really appreciate the replies yh it's a 2004 04 plate with 177000 on the clock but been well looked after mechanically as we know the person that I brought it off so I'll take your advise and change fuel filter oil and oil filter and air filter and like you say go from there.

  5. Jim please rest assured I won't leave a single stone unturned. Since Christmas i have spent just under £2000 on having servo, vacuum pump, discs and pads ×4, tracking ×4, nitro fill and balancing. I, like yourself like to keep their charges in tip top condition (even if it means selling my other Kidney) I will of course keep you informed of the coarse of action, because this is really peeing me off. Regards Ian

  6. Hi Dan, Welcome, I've had a 2.0d sport estate (from new) and now a 2.5 V6 SE auto, from my point of view they are great cars. I'm pretty fussy about maintenance and detailing and so far (touching wood) been super reliable, the sport had 200k on the clock when I sold her. They go through the typical bits and bobs through their life as you would expect with any car, I had many years of German company cars and have not found the X to be any less reliable, infact, the styling and comfort is far better in the Jag (my opinion) Look after them well and they should look after you. Happy motoring A
